The ambiguous case is within the study of trigonometry . Trigonometry is the study of the measures of angle and sides in triangles . Many of the early concepts and skills are related to problems based on astronomy and land measurement – all involving triangles. Today, the use of trigonometry occurs in many fields such as electronics Main article: electronics, engineering and space exploration. When given measures of sides and angles of a triangle, a specific triangle can be constructed. But if two sides and a non contained angle are defined and the angle is opposite the smaller of the two sides, then a unique solution does not exist. This is called the ambiguous case.
