The Shadda Nebula was a collection of gases in the Toblain sector of the Outer Rim Territories, at galactic coordinates O-18. It was formed by the star Shadda sometime before 43 ABY, when it expanded to become a red giant—a post-main sequence star, which, along with the other red giants, formed than less than one percent of the total stars in the galaxy—and shed its outer layers. Shadda then began to cool into a white dwarf, a compact white star, whose type constituted seven percent of all stars in the galaxy.
