In the mirror universe, Kurn, son of Mogh, was a male Klingon warrior who lived during the 24th century, and a member of the House of Worf. As of 2372, he held the rank of captain, and was the commanding officer of the IKS Hegh'ta. However, he felt that his elder brother Worf, the Regent of the Klingon Empire, was unfairly holding back his advancement, for fears that the Cardassians would accuse him of nepotism. For this reason, Kurn allied himself with Drex, son of Martok, in an effort to gain command of the new Regent-class ship IKS Gorkon. When Kurn learned of a betrayal of the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance by the House of K'Tal, he tried to turn this to his political advantage.
