NZ's most successful recording artiste ever (unless it's Dame Kiri te Kanawa). A 16 year old Aucklander, her song "Royals" is the 1st by a Kiwi to top the US chart. Although previously "Somebody that I used to know" had included an NZ lady, Kimbra, in a duo with Gotye, a Belgian living in Oz. (Bestselling single of 2012 in USA). The song has of course been a hit in most Western countries. Her 1st LP, "Pure heroine", has been successful but not a #1 outside NZ/Oz.
