Plastiscab is a terran substance used for treatment of injuries. It has an acrid smell. Consisting of bottled, viscous plastic, it is applied over an open wound in a manner similar to a band-aid. This creates uncomfortable warmth at first, but forms as a layer of plastic within a few seconds, protecting the cut. However, removal of the layer can sometimes cause the wound to re-open. The effect is limited, being unable to treat deep wounds, but it can stop bleeding for a time. Plastiscab bandages can also be used to aid the healing of broken bones.
