Gregory Duke was a member of the Duke Family—one of the Old Families of the Terran Confederacy. He married Esmerelda Ndoci, the marriage being an "impressive affair" until it ended within a year, courtesy of Duke dying from what was reported to be a brain aneurysm. Many suspected Ndoci to be his murderer, although this was in fact one of the few cases where she was innocent. However, she reflected that she probably would have ended up killing him anyway.
