Piet Huygens was a demolitionist working for Marc Vollard. Piet Huygens, Ahmed, and Rashid were all preparing for their mission at Pelican Pier and configuring the explosives they intended to use to blow up the Mississippi River Bridge. Vollard entered the barge to check up on the captains and to observe Huygens. After he finished, Huygens warned Vollard that Hurricane Everette could disrupt their plans due to the electricity in the air. After Vollard suggested using a timing device instead of a wireless detonator, Ahmed reassured Huygens and Vollard that he would be able to sail through the hurricane with no problems. (Storm Force)
