Lieutenant Hogan Brown was a Human Starfleet officer who served as chief engineer aboard the USS Republic in the early 2250s. When Cadet-Lieutenant James T. Kirk and a group of cadets were assigned to the Republic in late 2251, Captain Rollin Bannock introduced Brown and the other senior staff to the cadets at a meeting.
