Beta Magellan (also known as Sigma Regonis) was a star system, a multiple star system located somewhere in the space of the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants. This system was the location of a number of worlds, including at least one class M planet—Bynaus, the homeworld to the Bynar civilization. (TNG episode: "11001001"; ST reference: The Worlds of the Federation) The stellar notations using the Greek language letters "beta" and "sigma" indicates that there might be star groups or constellations of some sort named "Magellan" and "Regonis".
