The Soul Consuming Flame is an enemy in EarthBound in the Fire Spring. It is a puddle of lava with a ghoulish face. It has insanely high offense, but it also has very low defense. It can spew a fireball at one of your characters, dealing a lot of damage. It can also spray a line of fire and breathe fire, which will hurt all teammates and cause them to sustain a huge amount of damage. Since its defense is only 6, it's very easy to defeat with simple physical attacks. It is one of the very few non-boss enemies to use the Sanctuary Guardian theme.
