On Flickies' Island, Doctor Robotnik orders Grimer to prepare a Badnik squadron for an attack on the Emerald Hill Zone. Rather than target Sonic the Hedgehog, however, Robotnik decides that Tekno the Canary has been an asset to Sonic's team for too long and targets her. In the Emerald Hill Zone, five Flyzippers appear in the sky, so Tekno shoos the Emerald Hill folk indoors. The Badniks completely ignore Amy Rose and relentlessly pursue Tekno. An offended Amy uses her crossbow to thin the Badnik numbers and Tekno uses the distraction to slip into her workshop.
