Mr. Hetterwood was Jordan and Hannah Shepherd's neighbor. When Hannah Shepherd suffered a miscarriage Mr. Hetterwood went to comfort her but Jordan found them together and immediately assumed that they were having an affair. Angered on this assumption, Jordan killed Mr. Hetterwood.
