Melanie Cross is the daughter of Don Barbara and the sister of Dale Barbara. Melanie is a teenager who first found the egg in 1988 with Sam Verdreaux, Pauline Rennie and Lyle Chumley. When they found the egg the others wanted to leave, but Melanie wanted to protect it. Melanie was then pushed by Lyle. Melanie cracked open her head and died. Years later Melanie woke up from the dead and found herself drowning in a lake. She was then saved by Julia Shumway and Sam. She is portrayed by Grace Victoria Cox.
