Rush for Spinach is a racing game with some platform mechanics, as characters must run towards the right side of the screen, trying to reach a goal first and jumping over and otherwise avoiding obstacles, and also the other racers. Not only is Popeye playable, but also Olive Oyl, Bluto and Wimpy. Helpful items along the way include skateboards, pogo sticks and cans of spinach. A 3D version entitled Popeye: Hush Rush for the Spinach was in development for the PlayStation 2 console, but was canceled before its release.
