This has happened for a reason. The Submachine has been abandoned for an unknown amount of time. The original power sources no longer work, so it creates its own: the Wisdom Gems. Wisdom Gems are the essences, the souls, the memories, of the people who have entered the Submachine network. When you get snagged into the Submachine, you're good as dead.
