Inverness is the only city in the Scottish Highlands and has a population of over 50,000. It was granted city status in 2001 at the expense of Perth. There are no tower blocks in the area although there are many housing estates: * Dalneigh * Cradlehall * Drakies * Holm * Inshes * Smithton
