Ty Lee was a member of the Rebel Alliance. Born to a poor family on Coruscant, Ty Lee worked as a servant of an Imperial Advisor, eventually becoming a close friend of his daughter, Mai Souma. She joined Mai Souma and her father on a trip to the Death Star in 0 BBY, and defected to the Rebellion when Mai did.
