Major William Fountain Woods (1845-12 October 1925) was a Volunteer officer. The son of Lieutenant-Colonel Thomas Woods, Glamorganshire Artillery and his wife Elizabeth née Hardwick. Woods moved to Chelsea, and became a justice of the peace the County of London and held a commission in the 2nd (South) Middlesex Rifle Volunteer Corps. He also maintained a residence at Llandaff near Cardiff and at Blundeston in Suffolk. He was the second Mayor of Chelsea, serving three consecutive terms from 1901-1904.
