Following the Third World War (2034–2052), the major superpowers of the world either collapsed or were greatly weakened from the nearly twenty year long conflict that killed 100 million people. The collapse of the global economy, and the high rates of anarchy tore apart the major superpowers that "survived" the conflict. Also, this allowed the Unified Hurian Federation, which largely remained out of the conflict, to begin making massive political, territorial, and technological gains with literally no competition at all. Huria is the world power on Dunia, having attained the title of hyperpower following the war.
