Zafrod Orion was an influential Casparian businessman and politician. Tapped at a young age for a diplomatic career, Zafrod proved a bit too rash and, at times, unstable for full time diplomatic duty. Although he maintained lifelong ties to the CDU government, his direct involvement lessened with time. He took the opportunity to found NovaCom Cybertronics with Cyril M'Meggor, and originally manufactured droids, but eventually spread out to include all manner of electronics. Although Zafrod was a mechanical hack, stealing the best ideas from other manufacturers and incorporating them into his own designs, he was an expert at marketing, and NovaCom became a huge success.
