To contribute code to Habitica's habitica.com website and API, first follow the instructions in Setting up Habitica Locally. Once your local install is working, this page will give you information about how to proceed with making a change. You can refer back to this page each time you start a new change or when you run into trouble with your local install. This page is not relevant for contributing to development for the mobile apps.
