It is thought that mites do not actually drink water but instead absorb it from the air. Use a dehumidifier to lower the amount of water in the air to reduce mite activity. Works best with the tank hooked up to allow the water to drip to outside the room. The room being moisture controlled needs to be sealed against the element. It can be far easier and quicker to lower the humidity by opening the windows and doors. When the house has dried out as much as it can, usually within five to thirty minutes, then close all of the doors and windows and turn on the dehumidifier. Use device as directed.
