The Grokarians were a race of the Alpha or the Beta Quadrant. They had eight fingers on each hand, faintly resembling a spider. Some Grokarians were seers, and reputed to have powers of prophecy. This was due to a psionic wild talent that gave some Grokarians the power to calculate probabilities within the space-time continuum. (TNG novel: Survivors)
