The Democratic Republic of Portugal, also called South Portugal nicknamed the Lisbon government, is a country formed around 2028 following the collapse of most nations on Earth. A group of nationalists displeased with the government gathered in June 2028 in northern Portugal, and took over the major city of Braga when the government refused to acknowledge their demands. The Portuguese Civil War broke out shortly afterwards with the Nationalist Republic of Portugal shortly afterwards. In 2030, the Democratic Republic fell to the Nationalists.
