Lord Faroguy was the uncle of Fax. He was, overall, a good Lord, with the exception of a "blind spot" when it came to Fax. Faroguy would not see the danger posed by Fax until it was too late. At around the 414th year of the Second Long Interval, Fax murdered Faroguy and his eldest son, Farevene, and claimed Lordship of High Reaches. Faroguy's other son, Bargen, went into hiding.
