Casmala II was an impoverished colony planet in the Outer Rim. During the Separatist Crisis, it grew fed up with the lack of necessary aid from the Republic, and joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Although the Clone Wars never came to the planet, when the CIS broke up, the Empire took it easily. The denizens of the world were punished for siding with the Separatists, and conditions worsened on the now heavily-sanctioned planet.
