Right after Cloyder evolved into Shellster, the gang of 12 go on their journey to Shalour City, but right before they get there, Melanie spots another wild Pokémon nearby called a Magduck which is a fire Pokémon and a cross between a a Magmar and a Psyduck. Melanie catches it in 1 of her Poké Balls and is now ready to challenge Korrina and her fighting Pokémon and when Melanie and Magduck win the battle match, they notice Jessie, James and Meowth standing by and when Magduck defeats them with its attack moves, it powers up and evolves into Psymar, which is a cross between a Psyduck and a Magmar.
