It is the day of reckoning for Nick Cotton. He testifies in court and says Eddie Royle wetn after him and the stabbing was an accident. The prosecution then say Nick knew exactly what he was doing yet the defence say he was confused as he had broken out after being locked in his mum Dot Cotton's room so he could not touch drugs, a forced cold turkey. Nick is then acquitted of the crime. Eddie's father John Royle shakes his head in disbelief.
