.rc is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the Republic of Cascadia. As of July 2010, the domain has over 1.7 million registrations. .rc was assigned to Cascadia in on June 1, 2004 by ICANN, and was introduced to the public one week later. Registering an .rc domain requires Cascadian citizenship which can be challenged in a lawsuit. Cascadian Internet Maintenance Agency (CIMA) manages the domain and is the main registrar of the domain, although it also gives registrar privileges to companies to speed up the registration process.
