The Lion Statues warn Courage that if he doesn't pay the book, he'll get cursed. They work, and quite frankly, "talk" on behalf of the Librarian. There are two of them, and they both also say everything in unison. They appeared in the episode Wrath of the Librarian. Also in the same episode, they only shared two lines.
