The Sickle-back Mantis, or Sickle-back Mantis of Dantooine, was a type of mantis native to Dantooine. After mating, the female would rip off the male's head and deposit her eggs in his body. The offspring would then emerge, consume the carcass, and fight. Count Dooku showed a hologram of these creatures to Asajj Ventress on Vjun in 19 BBY.
