Devil's Weed is the term coined by the Spanish Inquisition in the 1500s for tobacco when Christopher Columbus brought back the New World plant. The first anti-tobacco group, the Spanish Inquisition immediately viewed tobacco as a product of the devil and this term maligned the natural plant. They even imprisoned Rodrigo de Jerez (one of Columbus's sailors) for smoking in his Spanish hometown. The brand was developed by Luis Molina and his family and Juan Rodriguez, who worked in collaboration to achieve the smoking experience and blend that Molina was seeking.
