Most Scarab beetles are common but they are not often, sometimes rarely seen and encountered. Some species turn up in the garden in early spring and late summer, such as June beetles and May bugs. Scarab beetles are bad fliers, they are clumsy and slow as they frequently crash into things and some species can even be caught with your hand.
