Château Lafite Rothschild was a dark ruby-colored wine that tended to be firm, yet delicate and supple. An imaginary seven-course meal of Tom Paris in an Akritirian prison included a bottle of Lafite Rothschild from 2296 – a good year. (VOY: "The Chute") According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 1, p. 135) , the wine was from the Bordeaux region of France. The authors write that the 1959 vintage was a favorite of Robert Justman.
