The Heracleidae Empire (1100- 309 BC), also called the (First) Persican Empire, was an empire based in what is now eastern Diadochia, founded by Heraclius the Great. This empire was notable for bringing together various Diadochian cultures and nationalities. The empire became the largest empire in ancient Diadochian history (until all of Diadochia was united in the modern nation-state). The Heracleidae empire was also notable for its highly efficient centralized administration and its imperial bureaucracy which allowed for a civil service, well-traversed road systems, postal systems, a professional army, and an official language. With 40 million in 460 BC the empire controlled a significant portion of the worlds population.
