The 2005 Ameriquest 300 was a Busch Series event held at California Speedway on September 3, 2005. Carl Edwards dominated the latter portions of the event, holding off Greg Biffle. Edwards' biggest challenge, in fact, came from driving through the smoke of the fireworks, which had gone off one lap too early. Points leader Martin Truex, Jr struggled to 15th, allowing Clint Bowyer (3rd) to close the gap to 142 points. Stats
