Tarasicodissa was next appointed. He was an Armenian born Senator of Pontus aged 49. So far, he was the farthest away born Emperor and many were dissatisfied. Revolts were up in the Balkans and in an effort to please the Greeks and Romans, Tarasicodissa changed his name to Marcvs Zeno. It was lucky for him that Theodosius’ laws made the Empire more manageable but sabotage, intrigue, and rebellions still occurred.
