The Fall of Fornost was the capture of the capital of the Infinite Empire, which occurred after a hard siege by John Keldin, against the defending army of Rakatans commanded by Emperor Ersaave and Keeper Raleth. After a long siege the city and the Citadel of Fornost were conquered from Keldin. The Fall of Fornost marked the end of Infinite Empire which lasted nearly 12,500 years. After the conquest John Keldin made Rakatha city as the capital of his religion. Several philosophers and intellectuals before and after the fall migrated to Ord Mantell.
