Adam Langer is one of the murder victims in The Man in the Bear. According to the Sheriff, he used to come up to Aurora to visit Sherman Rivers, the town's Native American Park Ranger. Later Booth and Brennan found a perverse version of a medicine wheel and two dead bodies belonging to Adam Langer and Ann Noyes, whose heart has been removed. Adam Langer was murdered by Andrew Rigby, who shot him in the head with a low-caliber hand gun at close range. Rigby cannibalized Langer's arm in the belief that he would gain his strength.
