Thane Gilman is the thane of Gilman's Cot. He is the master of one hundred and fifty slaves and has an army of henchmen to enforce his tyranny. Gilman is afraid of Maerad, Like everyone else he believes that Maerad is a witch and thinks that if she ever dies he will be tormented forever by her ghost. He and his wife had 12 children but only 5 survived.
