Nadia Salimi (born 1959) is a United Emirates politician and former president. Her election into office in 1998 was a monumental achievement, since she became the first woman to lead a Middle-Eastern nation. She was re-elected for a second term in 2002 and held office until 2006. In 2009 she was made the head of the Emirates delegation to the Non-Aligned Movement.
