Primero was a military rank that was used prior to the Butlerian Jihad by the League of Nobles. The rank was equivalent to the Old Earth rank of General or Field Marshal, and was replaced by the rank of Bashar in the Army of Humanity. Additionally, Primero means 'First' in the Spanish language, which in turn comes from the Latin word 'Primarius'.
