The Mordet Maneuver was a Romulan starship tactic. Prior to engaging in battle a command wing at the rear of the Romulan formation cloaks and waits until the enemy is fully engaged in combat. The cloaked wing then moves around the outside of the battle to avoid accidental collisions or stray weapons blasts hitting the vessel and flank the enemy.
