The Independent States of America (ISA or the Independent States) is a federation and the largest country in North America, and the second largest in the world after the Russian Federation. It is made up of ten states (Independent States Proper), five provinces (American Canada) and one territory (Guam). The country's capital, since 6 December 2010, is Matagorda City's Federal District. The country was declared independent from the United States in early 2007, and John H. Prince was elected president. Five Canadian provinces and territories joined the Independent States in November 2011 in a desperate measure to save their economy.
