The so-called "Cult of Varn" was a religion that developed among the Kamarian Badlanders in 2 BBY. Kamar was a dry, mountainous planet, with the Badlands even harsher than average. The Badlanders thus had a great reverence for water. Around 16 ABY, the Cult began spreading offworld. Over the next few years, it spread to Mon Calamari, Bengat, and even Varn, where it generally irritated the locals. It was still present in those locations as of 36 ABY.
