Oxeites was the ecumenical patriarch of the Empire of Videssos during the reign of Krispos Avtokrator. Unlike some of the other patriarchs during Krispos' reign, Oxeites was more willing to bow to his emperor's will; one matter that he did stick up for, though, was the rule that priests should not be tortured. During the rebellion of the Thanasioi, who had many clergymen in their ranks, Krispos reluctantly deferred to Oxeites on that issue.
