The Battle of Okyaab was a surprise attack by the Loyal Retainers against the Republic Army garrison on Okyaab, a small Outer Rim world. Around 18,000 BBY, the planetary leader of Najarka, Lord Junai, was captured and executed by the Galactic Republic on alleged charges of corruption. His warriors remained loyal to him even in his death, and looked to avenge their fallen master. The Loyal Retainers, as they were known, began a campaign against the Republic, beginning with a surprise attack at the Army garrison on the backwater world of Olyaab. They garrison, though 20,000 strong, was taken by surprise and destroyed, with most personnel being slaughtered by the Retainers.
