The SDF-2 Megaroad was the second Macross-class ship built following the construction of the SDF-1 Macross. It was the first of the Megaroad-class. It was also effectively the first human-build Macross ship (since SFD-1 was a restored alien ship). Its construction was started in November 2003 s at the Lunar surface's Apollo Base. It was launched in September 2012 as the first in a series of long-distance colonization fleets launched by humans. Megaroad 01 was a remodelling of the incomplete Macross Class No.2 ship, which was in the midst of construction during the interstellar war.
