Evans and Parnes wrote "Happiness Is," which was sung in many early Sesame Street episodes. He later worked with Parnes on the 1981 album Big Bird Discovers the Orchestra (co-writing "Concerto for Pots and Pans.") As a session singer, he was part of the Sing-along Singers on Sesame Street Christmas Sing-Along (1985). Beyond his own albums, Evans was heard on commercial jingles and sang in Woody Allen's Mighty Aphrodite (for the chorus) and Everyone Says I Love You. He was a frequent guest on The Dick Clark Show.
