Initially ignored by the Galactic Federation upon Iego's refusal of their terms, the Jedi Order and Antarian Rangers operated independently to aid the Iego resistance against the Kingdom of Tyûk. True to its namesake, the Siege of Iego lasted one hundred standard galactic days, and was largely fought between Jedi and Sith. According to Theron Sokolov, the Grand Chairman of the Galactic Federation at the time, many speculated that the conflict was the forerunner of another war between the Jedi and Sith, or even began laying the groundwork for the greater involvement of the Galactic Federation and the Sith Hegemony.
